How do I connect Gmail, Slack, or GitHub?
Open Settings → Integrations and click Connect next to the service you want. You’ll be sent through the provider’s OAuth flow (Google, Slack, GitHub, etc.) and returned to FocusHQ with a ready-to-sync connection. FocusHQ stores tokens encrypted and only requests the scopes needed to read and reply on your behalf.
Why does AI triage make mistakes sometimes?
The model starts with sensible defaults, but the best results come from correcting it for the first week or two. Every time you change a message’s category or mark a sender important, FocusHQ learns — the next similar message will be classified more like you would. You can also write explicit rules in Settings → AI Rules for the cases where you want deterministic behavior.
Can I use FocusHQ offline?
Mostly, yes. Reading the inbox, working the daily plan, and running focus sessions all work offline — actions queue locally and sync when you’re back online. AI features (triage, draft, plan generation) require a connection because they call our AI service. New messages from Gmail / Slack / Calendar also sync only when online.
How is my data secured?
OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM before they touch the database. All traffic between the macOS app and our API is TLS 1.3. Message content is stored in a private, single-tenant PostgreSQL instance on Supabase (EU). AI calls send only the content needed for the task and are never used to train third-party models. You can export or delete everything from Settings → Data. Full details in our privacy policy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings → Billing and click Manage subscription. You’ll be taken to the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel, downgrade, change payment method, or download invoices. Cancellation stops the next renewal — you keep Pro/Team features until the end of the current paid period. See our refund policy for the first-14-days guarantee.
What happens when my trial ends?
If you haven’t added a card by the end of your Pro trial, your account automatically drops to the Free plan — you keep your data, connections, and history, but AI features pause and integrations are capped. Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged. Add a card any time to resume where you left off.
Team plan — how many seats do I need?
One seat per active member. Each seat gets the full Pro feature set plus team-only features (focus status, delegation, shared AI rules). Billing is monthly or yearly at $19/user/month (yearly is 20% less). You can add or remove seats any time from Settings → Team — billing prorates to the day.
Is there a Windows or Linux version?
Not yet. The macOS app is our focus through 2026. Windows is on the roadmap for late 2026 once the macOS product is stable. Linux and iOS are under evaluation. Drop us a line at support@focushq.app if you want to be notified when they ship.
